About St. Brigid CSPC

CSPC is an acronym for Catholic School Parents Council. CSPC is a volunteer group of St. Brigid parents. The goal of the CSPC is ultimately to support student success at our school.

Halloween Dance | Tuesday, October 31st | Volunteers needed!

Help us make St.Brigid’s Halloween Spooktacular!

Give your gently used Halloween decorations a second life at the St.Brigid’s dance!

Witches will be waiting to collect your items at morning drop off on Friday Oct 20th and Friday Oct 27th . Decorations can also be brought to the gym between 6-9pm on Monday Oct 30th . Calling all ghost and ghouls to help decorate!

Meet and join the decorating skeleton crew in the gym on Monday Oct 30th , beginning at 6pm.

Picture Day and Curriculum Night – Wednesday, October 4th.

Please make sure the appropriate Dress Code for all TCDSB elementary schools is followed: Any combination of white and navy blue garments (no denim), such as a plain white top with navy blue bottom, or navy blue top and bottom.

Curriculum Night, also on Wednesday October 4th

  1. Curriculum night will start at 6 PM in the north yard of the school.  Following introductions and a few announcements, families will be invited to proceed into the school to meet their child’s teacher(s).  There will be two sessions, with an announcement/reminder between. 
  2. For hungry tummies, the Grade 8s will have samosas, apples, carrots on sale before and during curriculum night ($1 each, cash).  Proceeds will go to grade 8 grad. 
  3. The following will also be available at Curriculum night:
    • Blue and White Sale (gently used dress code clothing, $2 per item) 
    • Used book sale (with grade 8s)
    • CSPC information table and an Appreciation Station for students/families to stop by and write a note of gratitude to teachers/staff. 
    • If anyone is able to contribute a pie or a few dollars, the CSPC will be putting together a small token of appreciation for teachers and all staff on Thursday.  Please stop by to drop that off at the CSPC table.

Pizza ordering is open – check emails from the school for info, or go to our ordering info page here. Please order by September 29th!

Wednesday, Sept 27 – CSPC Annual General Meeting, Election and First Meeting. All St Brigid parents/guardians are encouraged to attend, either in person or online. See school’s weekly email for more info. If you can take on a voting role as a CSPC member, please email stbrigidcsac@gmail.com, fill in this Google form, or complete a paper nomination in the school office.

Welcome Back!

We hope you had a good summer. Here are lots of items for you as we return to the school year:

  • Curriculum night – Please check upcoming school emails for more details on date and time.
  • CSPC Annual general meeting (AGM) and first meeting – September 27th (time TBD). A new CSPC needs to be elected each year at the AGM. A summary of what we do is below, positions and time commitment are listed here, and nomination forms are here and here. Please consider taking on a role – it’s a great way to stay informed and involved!
  • Volunteer List & Committees – If you can help out with CSPC-related initiatives once in a while or would like to be added our volunteer email list, please fill in this form to let us know.
  • Class Parents – Some classes group contact lists/What’s App. If you are the admin for one of these groups, please get in touch at stbrigidcsac@gmail.com.
  • TCDSB Weekly Wrap-up – These weekly emails are sent by the TCDSB Communications Department and contain info on Board-wide opportunities for families and students. You can see the wrap-up from Sept 8 here; add your email to the contact list here.

  • At Home Alone workbookclick here for that. This is published by Toronto Public Health and is great for review/decision making with kids who will be walking themselves home or being home alone this year. Best if adult and child work through it together.

If you have ideas/comments on any school-related topic, please get in touch or share at a CSPC meeting. The CSPC is made up mostly of parents, and represents parents/families on school-wide matters that relate to student success.
